THE PERSON BEHIND POPS
Built around people.
Steven “Pop” Haywood’s work brings together boxing, mentoring and community support. His aim is to help young people find a positive path through training and to give local people a place to come together.
Pop runs the hub with a simple message: Because we care. The focus is on people: getting moving, building confidence and finding a place to belong.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT
A few useful things.
Do you have children’s sessions?
Yes. The timetable lists children’s classes from 5–6pm Monday to Friday and 10–11am at weekends. Ask Pop about suitable ages, supervision and the best starting session.
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring water. Before your first boxing session, ask the team about gloves and any other equipment you’ll need.
How do I join?
Visit during opening hours and speak to the team. Please sign in and pay on entry. Emergency contact forms are available at the hub.
Can I help support the hub?
Speak with Pop about volunteering, practical help, equipment or local business support. He can tell you what would be most useful.
Can I check access before visiting?
